The Hands of Man collection is a series of case studies and explorations into the symbolism and implied meaning behind hand gestures and movement within religious contexts as well as with anatomical representation throughout the history of European artwork. The part/WHOLE lens intends to “zoom-in” and abstract a piece of something that is often found within a larger situation or context. The graphics put a framework around a specific moment in time and allow the viewer to “complete” the image.
